The first microscope invented was a compound light microscope. It was invented in Holand in 1595. Zacharias Jensson and his father Hans created it. The major work was done by Hans but Zacharias collected his credit. It consists of a long tube with lens at ends, a stand and a specimen holder. It works by passing visible light through the specimen and the lens.
